Bio

Photography: Bryan Studios Ltd.

I come from a small family and grew up in a sleepy community in Kingston, Jamaica. Books were an important part of our household and as a result, I became an avid reader.

Falling in love with stories from a tender age caused me to start writing my own. Even back then, I knew that I wanted to become an author. However, many years would pass before I would begin that journey.

Soon, I became a JCDC Creative Writing Awardee. From there, my stories were published in a Jamaican anthology. Now I’m working on my first novel. Its themes include family and facing the consequences of one’s actions. It also has elements of magical realism drawn from Jamaican folklore.

Now that you know a little about me, I’d love to get to know you. Let’s connect. You can find me on TwitterInstagram, and Goodreads.

A Few Things About Me

  • Many moons ago, I used to play the piano.
  • I have an aversion to heights.
  • Tea is my all-time favourite hot beverage.
  • My love of the preternatural world began when I was a child, after watching reruns of “Dark Shadows” with my father.
  • I’m OCD.
  • I’ve battled depression for most of my life.
  • I’m a dog lover and have two of my own. They’re the bright spots in my life.
  • I climbed Blue Mountain Peak three times. The view from the top never got old.
  • My writing ideas flow more when I’m quiet and/or surrounded by water.
