Friday Favourites: Workspace Ideas

Friday Favourites is back, but this time, in a new way. I hope you’ll like what I have in store for the series. My wish is that it will help you to stay creative and inspire you with all sorts of ideas.

Happy Friday, everyone! This week, it’s all about creative ideas for your workspace. Whether you’re a writer, artist, or designer, your work area is a key factor in your artistic expression. Therefore, I’m sharing a few of my latest finds that I’m crushing on. I hope you’ll see an idea you like that you can use to transform your home office or studio space in a way that you’ll treasure.

Favourite Desk Décor

Pineapples and pumpkins. Who would’ve thought? I love it! This combination works for me because the pineapple is a tropical fruit and I’m Jamaican. Also, it’s autumn and what better food than the pumpkin to symbolise this season. So if you’re a Caribbean native living somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere, these culinary delights would be a great Fall touch (though temporary), especially if you want something other than flowers or a plant on your desk.

Favourite Desk Accessory

Having a cup on one’s desk is not only a staple for coffee and tea drinkers. It’s also a reminder to stay hydrated. This cup is a great accessory because one can use it for both hot and cold beverages. And with that safety lid, you won’t have to worry about spills. Plus, it’s cute.

Favourite Wall Art

I’m a huge fan of inspiring quotes and I’m always on the lookout for those that are worth framing. Imagine feeling stressed or worried and glancing up at your wall to see these reminders.

Favourite Makeover

Lisa Brunetti is an artist and a darn good one at that. You can read her story about how she transformed a farm bodega into a unique studio space. The result is stunning and I’m in love with the finished floor and designs on the rugs. Fun fact: She re-purposed an old door, along with the headboard and footboard of an old twin-size bed, for the drawing table.

Favourite Room Colour

Blue is one of my favourite colours. I gasped when I saw this interior… and the wall. It’s divine! Would you believe this is a coffee shop? Everything about all the colour combinations in this room is giving me life.

I often have fantasies about having a large artist studio to personalize and work in, but in the meantime, I do have a modest designated workspace in a corner of my bedroom☺️.

My workspace is in my bedroom, too. I look forward to the day when I can have a designated area for writing and creating. I’m going to have fun decorating it. 🙂

Well buenos dias to you, Nadine, and all of your readers! Thank you for the inspiration, from that very cute cork-wrapped cup to the handsome blue walls and floors in the coffee shop. I am honored that you featured ‘The Magic Carpet’ floor and my studio in between all of these refreshing ideas to jazz up the work space. Once an engineer dropped by my place and stated, ‘This place feels so good. May I just sit here for a little while?’ I was painting, so I returned to my work, and he just sat there – taking a time… Read more »

Beautifully said, Lisa. I was thrilled to feature your work. You’re a gifted artist. It shows in the work that you do, so much so that a stranger could refresh himself for a few moments in your space. Keep on doing what you’re doing so well.

Hi, Lydia! It certainly is. I’d definitely want to have a floor like that in my home.
