Krystal Smith on Women’s Voices in Storytelling

Storyteller Series is back, with a new look, or rather, sound!

From now on, you’ll get to listen each month, as I chat with writers and creatives and learn how they tell stories. Please note that the new format isn’t a podcast. It’s also not flawless. What it is, though, is me casting aside my fears, breaking out of my shell, and trying something new. I hope that you’ll be able to enjoy the discussions and gain something valuable from what’s said in each episode. Also, please drop me a line to let me know what you think. Your constructive feedback will be instrumental in helping me to craft the conversations in a way that will inspire and inform you.

My first guest for 2018 is Krystal Smith. She’s a Black lesbian writer of poetry and speculative fiction. Krystal holds an M.A. in English from Western Carolina University and a B.A. in English from Appalachian State University. Her debut collection of short stories, Two Moons, will be out on March 20, 2018.

Krystal is fun, bubbly, and easy to talk to. She shared great practical advice for writers and dropped so many wise gems in our chat that I wish I could frame and hang them on my wall. You’re in for a treat.
